Morning contemplation routine

According to Ayurveda daily routine is in itself a medicine. Routines offer grounding, and predictability that can be a powerful antidote to busy lives.

When the body becomes used to a daily routine the nervous system can finally begin to relax.  Each person's routine will be different but the main aspects include right amount of rest, right exercise, and a spiritual practice or time for reflection and contemplation. The right amount of rest, exercise and spiritual practice depends on the season, your body type and any ailments which exist. These specifics can be decided with an Ayurvedic Consultation. Once the body experiences regular routine according to your unique body type then rejuvenation and healing automatically takes place.

Having a daily routine is an act of self-love, in which our own health and wellbeing takes priority.  By including a daily routine improved health benefits can be seen very quickly. However choosing the appropriate practices is important, so as not to be overwhelmed. It is better to do one thing well, rather than take on five things that cannot be accomplished.

One recommendation which might be easy to implement is establishing a place in your home which you go to every morning. Having a cushion or rug where you can sit or lie down on, creates a sort of nest. A place where you go to start the day. You can sit or lie here for a few minutes in the morning and reflect. You might thank certain people for being in your life or spend a few minutes honouring your own successes. This time is for recognizing your own beauty, and connection to a higher consciousness. During this time you may wish to give space to the main tasks of the day, and let the time guide you on how your tasks will be best achieved. You could decorate the area with personal items which improve your peace.

These actions may be best run through with the help of an Ayurvedic Therapist or clinician. In this way you will get good guidance on which types of morning reflection feels best for you.  If you need any advice on such morning routines contact us and we can run through various techniques at our Plymouth clinic or even online.
